Food, Wine & Company - 2 Rooms,  May 2017' (Recycled frame, hessian on board, acrylic, pen & gloss mediums), 43cm by 69cm high

Another perspective painting about the dynamics of sharing food together.  I decided to utilise the space of this recycled frame (made in the USA) by painting two separate rooms in another perspective style.  One lounge and one dining.  I leave it up to the viewer to decide what this painting means to them.  Personally it signifies the experience and importance of eating and drinking to relationships between family and friends over the years.  I’m sure many could relate to this work.  Sold.  TY.

Political People - Guardian Selfie, August 2017' (Canvas on frame, acrylic, ink & satin gloss medium), 37.5cm by 75cm high

Tangata māori have little representation on decision making in government in NZ.  In NZ; majority cultures seem to out-number minority cultures for voting for political parties.  In this work there is a majority of white caped figures and a minority of green stylized figures.  For me, this work identify's the value of a 'ratio' and it has prompted a question for me.  What, if any, is the significance of the use of 'ratio' in the 'Māori world' (Te Ao Māori) and how can it be used to get more fairness in governing NZ, for example; through equal representation or something like that?  The fun side to this work is a guardian figure taking a selfie while supporting the white stylized figure.
